Originally developed for military and defense purposes, Def Stan 16-2, Type A cables, also known as Defence Standard cables, have evolved to find widespread use across various industries for diverse applications.
These cables serve a multitude of purposes, including data processing, information transfer, process control, security, and various industrial applications.
This version is suitable for use in public areas because it is manufactured using Low Smoke Non-Halogen (LSNH) materials
The Def Stan, Type A cable variant is unscreened and features tinned copper conductors, LSNH insulation, and a black LSNH outer jacket. Screened options are also available, with a range of core counts to suit different requirements.
Note: they are not suitable for use as mains connection cables.
