Less Plastic - Fantastic!
As a responsible distributor, Webro is committed to conducting business in the most sustainable way.
A considerable part of our sustainability drive involves working with our supply chain partners to remove as much non-recyclable plastic as possible from our operation. Our current joint purpose is to introduce a range of innovative solutions to replace plastic packaging.
So far we have:
Removed plastic wrap from cardboard reels, and replaced them with low-adhesive paper tape to secure cable ends.
Committed to a drum return scheme, bulk shipping for reuse to create a circular economy.
Done away with plastic wrap from plywood reels by stapling the cable end to the flange.
Eliminated plastic wrap from pallets, using cardboard boxes secured with bamboo strapping instead.
Swapped out plastic bags for paper collars on pre-terminated coax leads.
As with all good ideas the solutions are simple but effective, and every such change is a supply chain win for all. Each update change means that we're another step closer to being 100% plastic-free across all product packaging, and moves us ever nearer to achieving our ambitious sustainability targets.
