Up next is our Purchasing and Logistics Manager, Shaun Gartlan.
What’s your role at Webro?
Purchasing and Logistics Manager, or General Dogsbody.
How many years have you been in the cable industry?
20 years in total. With 18 of those here at Webro.
Why did you choose purchasing as your career path?
To be honest it chose me, I was just told one day by Roger that I was being moved into Purchasing from my role as Warehouse Supervisor. But I think it was more to do with my old boss Gordon needed help in the department and we shared the same happy go lucky nature…..hehehe.
What did you want to be when you were growing up?
A footballer for sure, I was easily good enough.
What’s the best thing about working at Webro?
For me it is the fact hard work and potential is always recognised and rewarded, you always get the chance to progress and move up the ladder here. The team are a great bunch to work with as well, (they must be to put up with me!).
What’s your favourite holiday destination?
Tough one but will say Mexico or Zakinthos. But my favourite place in the world is Hong Kong.
Any pets?
I have 3 dogs, a Staffordshire bull terrier called Lylah, and two chihuahuas called Bellatrix and Tinkerbell.
Favourite sports team?
Nottingham Forest.
What 3 words that best describe you?

What annoys you more than anything else?
Fools, they are my kryptonite.

The ability to teleport to anywhere in the world.

Starship troopers, a pure masterpiece.
What do you like to do when you’re not working?
My ultimate switch off is going fishing. The peace and quiet is amazing. Other than that, drinking as much lager as I can, and trying not to order enough food for 10 people on the way home on Just Eat. Family time is also very important to me.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers (Emma would not agree), plus I have a soft spot for Beyonce.
What’s your ‘go to’ karaoke song?
The Spanish national anthem.
Who would you swap places with for a day, and why?
It would probably be Pete the MD, on the day he sends over the wage’s information to the accountant, so I could bump my salary up by 50%!

Apart from PE, I would have to say Cookery, I love to cook.
Who would be your desert island companion of choice?
Easy one, my old dog Scooby.
